PROSPECTIVE PROJECTS

• MATAMA would like to do more specialized Projects in HIV/AIDS, Gender, Sectoral Policy and video/TV information dissemination.
• MATAMA is interested in enhancing information dissemination by acquiring a Community Radio Station (eventually a TV Station) for disseminating water and sanitation information among peri-urban areas.
• Produce a learning video documentary for ECAPP covering all the activities being done by the members with funding from the Water For People. This will help fund raising for Water For People and ECAPP.
• Institute a computer based knowledge center featuring computer operation training and access of global information through internet. Special focusing on the youth and community administrative structure, which want to link up with others for sharing knowledge.
• We are trying to negotiate with Water for People (USA) and (Malawi) for further long – term funding to their original funded projects so that they become model villages.  For example we would like to turn Senti, Ng,oma and Chimoka  into Water & Sanitation Model Villages, where each household will have a sanplat toilet and safe drinking water through kiosks already existing.  Similarly, we want to renegotiate with Water for people (Malawi) to fund a continuation of their Waliranji Women WATSAN project to increase number of dome slabs made so that many households should have access to the technology.
• We want to negotiate with CIDA to fund additional shallow well pumps for Chimundi Water & Sanitation Project to help an additional 10 villages access safe drinking water.
• Finally we discovered through our work that HIV/AIDS is hampering work in the provision of safe drinking water and sanitation. Therefore in collaboration with Dr. P. Dzanjalimodzi we are trying to come up with an HIV/AIDS intervention proposal for all areas where we already are in operation so that the two components should go hand in hand.
